By Jeffery Wood | October 5, 2009

That’s the question that maybe on your mind! Why would you want to create a blog for your business? Well we are in 2009 and with 2010 around the corner you have to start someday.
I use my blog site to keep my readers posted with what’s going on with my company. It makes it much easier for me to let our readers know who we are and what we do. Since the whole explosion of twitter it makes sense for you to have some kind of online account for your company.
There are consumers out there who won’t even look at your product until they see a website or some sort of online reference about you and the service you are offering. The world we live in today is always advancing so why not advance with it?
This is a great step and a smart one! As long as you market yourself correctly you will be giving your company a lot more traffic. We are moving towards the future and it’s going to happen on the world wide web! You should be apart of it so go ahead and sign up for your blog site now! You’ll be glad you done so!

Kurls & Emma,
I totally agree with you. I’ve been developing a blog for a friend of mine who has a thrift shop. http://www.AuctionMediaPress.com
It’s about a month old. It began with the focus on the ebay auction end of his business, hence the title, and then I decided to go in a more regional direction.
I’m still focusing on development from a creative point – but the internet really is an art form, and not quite a technical science.
I’m considering buying a new URL address because I think it might be more relevant from the regional perspective. Something that store customers and locals would be more likely to remember.
But that might be something worth putting up as a poll inside the store – I could prepurchase a few domain names and then ask the customers to submit a ballot, could turn it into a drawing to encourage folks to enter….
This comment has turned out to be a good brain storm for me – THANK YOU!
Success & Joy!

It’s usually a good idea to get a domain name as close to the name of the store (or brand or product) that you are promoting. I recommend that if you are going to change it, sooner is better from a search engine’s point of view (as I understand it anyway) because you’ll essentially be “starting over” Using a 301 redirect on the old domain name will help the search engines know that it was moved and not a duplicate site.
